There
are several shopping areas located around the Goleta
Valley - Calle Real, Fairview, Magnolia, Storke Road,
Turnpike, The Plaza, Old Town Goleta and Camino Real
Marketplace.
The South Coast may be almost as
famous for its shopping as it is for its beaches. With
everything from boutiques and big-box stores dotting
southern Santa Barbara County, there is truly something
for everyone here. Why put up with traffic on the 101
and the congestion of State Street, when every thing you
need is available here in the Goleta Valley?
Fancy Pants
Michael Stars t-shirts, Red Engine jeans, and Isabella
Fiore handbags line the walls of Betty Ann Denier's
high-end fashion boutique. Located on Calle Real, Patty
Montana, displays a casual elegance for all ages and
tastes, garnering devotees from Santa Ynez to Montecito.
“Our philosophy is that everything goes back to jeans,”
Denier said. “We work together as a team and listen to
the customer to pull outfits together.” A designer jean
Mecca, the store offers the latest styles from Big Star,
David Kaun, Johnny Was, Billy Blues, and True Grit.
But Patty Montana is more than a demin depot, the
fashionista staff can help you find the perfect accents.
C&C t-shirts are a favorite, as are the variety of hobo
handbags and fashion jewelry to accessorize any outfit.
The store carries two-tone chiffon-silk scarves from
local designer Caron Miller in any color you desire and
jewelry from Santa Barbara Company, Jewel of the Sea.
Heavenly-scented bath products and candles fill the back
corner, lovely for a gift or guilty self-indulgence. Try
the avocado-based Mediterranean Spa Company products
from Rome, or a Renascent candle from Goleta-local Mike
Horn. 5726 Calle Real, Goleta. (805)683-1816.
Voted
the “Best Place to Buy Jewelry” by the Santa Barbara
Independent Reader's Poll, The Jewelry Mart showcases
icing for every age and budget. The old-fashioned
jeweler is not just a place to buy the rocks, but also
offers jewelry design and watch repair services.
Co-owners Jon Hazeltine and Alejandro Cardenas have been
in business for 14 years at the Goleta location, selling
everything from Seiko watches to diamond engagement
sets.
“We're an old-fashioned jewelry store
with a little bit of everything. We have something for
your nephew, your college student, and you grandmother,”
Hazeltine said.
The store features diamonds, pearls,
charms, 14-carat gold, Sterling silver, precious
gemstones, and watch brands including Citizen, Seiko,
and Fossil. Gemstones highlight the shop as their
biggest seller with customers after high-quality
diamonds, rubies, and sapphires. Many of the sparkling
necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings are even
produced in house by Hazeltine and Cardenas. The store
just began selling contemporary Sterling silver and
diamond line, Hot Diamond, which caters to a younger
population. However, the high-quality jewelry doesn’t
come with a high cost; The Jewelry Mart prides itself as
a discounter jeweler, offering prices 30-50% below the
retail price. 5850 Hollister Ave, Goleta. (805)683-6468
